Working in Queenstown
The local conditions that change how we work.
Sealing a Queenstown driveway isn't cosmetic — it's an investment in the life of the slab. Unsealed concrete absorbs water every time it rains, the water freezes overnight, and the freeze prises the surface apart from within. After five winters you can see the result: spalling, scaling and aggregate exposure. A penetrating sealer interrupts that cycle. The water beads off, doesn't soak in, doesn't freeze inside the slab. The same sealer also stops oil from soaking in and makes future cleaning vastly easier.
Whether it's a residential job, a commercial site or a heritage building, we adapt our method to the surface, the exposure and the season. Our team is on the ground in Queenstown Lakes weekly, call-outs to Queenstown are part of the normal schedule, not a special trip.

Queenstown FAQs
Common local questions.
When should I seal a new Queenstown driveway?
After a minimum 28-day cure from the pour. For winter pours we sometimes wait 35-45 days for the slab to fully dry out. Sealing too early traps internal moisture and causes adhesion problems.
Will the sealer change the colour of my driveway?
Paving Protect is a penetrating sealer with a near-invisible appearance. Exposed aggregate gets a slight natural-colour enhancement (the aggregate stones look richer); broom-finish concrete looks essentially unchanged. We don't sell glossy film-forming sealers because they yellow under alpine UV.
How long does the sealer last?
3-5 years for most residential driveways in Queenstown conditions. Heavy-traffic commercial driveways may need re-coating earlier. We can do a quick water-bead test after 3 years to confirm whether the seal is still working.
Can sealing fix existing damage on my driveway?
Not directly. Sealing doesn't repair existing spalling or aggregate loss — but it stops the damage progressing. For driveways that are already showing wear, we'd assess whether some surface repair makes sense before sealing.
