Working in Wanaka
The local conditions that change how we work.
Wanaka brick walls face a particular combination of high UV, hard frosts, and dry summers. UV alone degrades unsealed brick surfaces; frost cracks them from within when moisture cycles freeze; dry summers bake any biological growth into the pore structure. A penetrating sealer addresses the root cause — moisture absorption — which knocks back all three issues. Sealed brick stays drier, resists frost cracking, and is much easier to keep clean year-on-year.
Whether it's a residential job, a commercial site or a heritage building, we adapt our method to the surface, the exposure and the season. Our team is on the ground in Upper Clutha weekly, call-outs to Wanaka are part of the normal schedule, not a special trip.

Wanaka FAQs
Common local questions.
Is Wanaka really worth a separate sealing visit?
We're in Wanaka every week. There's no premium for sealing this side of the Crown Range — travel is built into the standard quote, same as Queenstown.
I have a holiday rental in Wanaka with brick boundary walls — what does maintenance look like?
A typical brick boundary wall sealed properly should be set for 7-10 years. We can quote a once-only seal, or include the property in our holiday-home programme which adds an annual exterior check so issues get caught early. Either approach makes sense; happy to talk through both.
My architect specified Sika or similar for the brick on our Wanaka build. Can you apply that?
Yes — we work to architect specifications. Where the specified product is appropriate we'll use it; where we think our own Water Repel formulation outperforms it for the climate, we'll have that conversation with the architect first.
Can sealing be done in winter in Wanaka?
Yes if temperatures stay above 5°C during application and through the cure window. We tend to schedule sealing for autumn and spring where possible, but winter work is fine in fine-weather windows.
