Queenstown Block Wall Waterproofing

Drag the handle to compare
External moisture was pushing straight through this concrete block wall, driving heavy efflorescence and visible damp across the full face of the substrate. Left untreated, that kind of constant moisture movement chews through the block over time and leaves a permanent salt bloom no amount of surface cleaning will fix. The fix was two-stage: a thorough clean to pull off the existing efflorescence and prep the substrate, then a coating of ARDEX WPM 300 to stop the moisture pushing through and bringing more salt deposits with it. WPM 300 is a flexible waterproof membrane built for exactly this kind of below-grade and damp-prone block work, and pairs well with the rest of the masonry protection systems we run on Central Otago jobs. The result is a wall that looks consistent again and, more importantly, one that isn't going to keep flagging up the same problem in six months. For industrial and commercial spaces in Queenstown, where damp block walls are common in lower levels and back-of-house areas, treating the moisture at source is the only fix that actually holds.
