Working in Queenstown
The local conditions that change how we work.
Tile in Queenstown homes is typically high-end natural stone — travertine, limestone, slate — that won't tolerate aggressive cleaning. The wrong product can permanently etch the surface, and high-pressure water destroys grout. We use specialist pH-neutral chemistry and soft-wash methods, with vacuum extraction where needed to lift dirt from fossil-textured surfaces without damaging them.
Whether it's a residential job, a commercial site or a heritage building, we adapt our method to the surface, the exposure and the season. Our team is on the ground in Queenstown Lakes weekly, call-outs to Queenstown are part of the normal schedule, not a special trip.

Queenstown FAQs
Common local questions.
Can you clean my travertine pool surround without making it slippery?
Yes — slip-rating preservation is part of our standard process for pool surround work. We use cleaners that lift contamination without altering the surface texture or affecting any existing slip-rated finish.
My natural stone floor has been mopped with vinegar for years and now looks dull. Can it be restored?
Vinegar is acidic and etches calcium-based stone like marble, limestone and travertine. The etching is microscopic surface damage. We can clean and re-hone the surface to restore the polish — heavy etching may need a polishing treatment in addition to cleaning. We'll assess on-site.
Do you clean tile grout too, or just the tile?
Both. The grout is usually the biggest visual problem on an aged tile floor — that's the dark line that makes the whole floor look dirty. We deep-clean grout as part of any tile job and can also re-colour or re-seal grout where needed.
Is professional tile cleaning worth it vs DIY?
For porcelain in a low-traffic area, DIY is fine. For natural stone tile, large areas, or anywhere with significant build-up, professional makes a clear difference. We use truck-mounted hot-water extraction equipment that domestic gear can't match, paired with chemistry chosen for the specific tile and contamination.
